Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15th 1960) was an American actor. Her work has earned her recognition for her TV and film performances since the early 1980s. Her awards include the two Golden Globe Awards, sixteen NAACP Image Awards as well as nominations for Academy Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was raised in New York New York and fostered by an aunt living in Winston-Salem North Carolina. The mother of Bassett had divorced from her father when she was approximately five. Her younger sister then went into St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett was inspired to become an actress after she saw the play Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. Following her graduation from Yale University New Haven Connecticut in 1980, with an undergraduate degree in African American Studies, she continued to pursue an MA (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance was also an actor at Yale. They were married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Bachelor of Arts (Afro-American study) in 1980. An M.A. in Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett has been cast in the lead role of Ramonda for the action adventure film, i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
